Hello, dear Flixer! Tell me, how is your ?cinema vocabulary?? Last week we watched Aquaman?s movie trailer. Today, we?ll watch part of a movie review! I?m sure you?ll learn (or review) lots of cinema-related vocabulary. Chris Stuckman has a YouTube channel that is all about movie reviews. He has very good diction and watching his videos (especially reviews of films you have seen before) is a nice way to practice your listening if you love movies ;)

Aquaman was directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa as Arthur curry and in

this film he discovers that he is the rightful heir to the underwater Kingdom called Atlantis and he must fight Orm, also known as the ?Ocean Master? played by Patrick Wilson because he also wants that Kingdom under his rule.

I've been following James Wan?s career for a really long time ever since (I) saw ?Insidious?, ?The Conjuring?; I think he's one of the most talented directors working today. I've always been so excited to see him get bigger and better gigs I think he's great and so I was really curious to see how he would bring Aquaman to the big screen because this superhero doesn't necessarily have the same reputation as some of the more iconic ones that we know today.

For a while he was kind of a joke and it's been more recent comics that have made the character a lot more badass and more entertaining and so I was curious to see how they would handle this.

This is a very self-aware film that's knowingly silly that's purposefully over-the-top that throws everything at the screen in a gigantic explosion of underwater festivities and so much color and pure enjoyment and fun that I couldn't help but smile through most of Aquaman.

I think this is a really entertaining movie and I am very surprised to say that because the trailers didn't really impress me, they looked like a bit of a mess I was concerned about overuse of CGI but I have to say: please all the visual effects designers have worked on

this film, pat yourself on the back because the work that's on display here is so incredibly impressive.

It's a beautiful movie, I mean, yeah a lot of it is CG you can't make this movie without

CG but there were times where it reminded me of Avatar just how colorful it was how beautiful everything looked the, the ocean creatures and the costume design everything just leaps off the screen it's such a bright and vivid looking movie.

Eu venho seguindo a carreira de James Wan há muito tempo desde que vi a ?Sobrenatural, ?Invocação do Mal?? - Eu acho que ele é um dos diretores mais talentosos que trabalham hoje. Eu sempre estive tão animado em vê-lo pegar trabalhos maiores e melhores Eu acho ele ótimo.

E então eu estava muito curioso para ver como ele traria Aquaman para a tela grande, porque esse super-herói não necessariamente tem a mesma reputação de alguns dos mais icônicos que conhecemos hoje.

Por um tempo, ele era uma espécie de piada e tem sido os quadrinhos mais recentes que têm feito (deixado) o personagem muito mais foda e mais divertido; e então eu estava curioso para ver como eles lidariam com isso.

Este é um filme muito auto-consciente que é intencionalmente bobo que é propositadamente over-the-top (exagerado) que joga tudo na tela em uma explosão gigantesca de festividades subaquáticas e tanta cor e puro prazer e diversão que eu não pude deixar de sorrir durante a maior parte de Aquaman.

Eu acho que este é um filme realmente divertido e estou muito surpreso em dizer isso porque os trailers não me impressionaram, pareciam um pouco confusos (bagunçados)... eu estava preocupado com o uso excessivo de computação gráfica, mas tenho que dizer: por favor, todos os designers de efeitos visuais que trabalharam neste filme, se dêem um tapinha nas costas porque o trabalho que está em exibição aqui é incrivelmente impressionante.

É um filme lindo, quero dizer, sim, muito disso é computação gráfica , você não pode fazer esse filme sem

computação gráfica, mas houve momentos em que ele me lembrou de Avatar, o quão colorido era, o quão bonito tudo parecia, as criaturas do oceano e o design de figurino tudo simplesmente salta da tela... é um filme tão brilhante e vívido.
